Verse of the Day~

[The word of the Lord came to Elijah], "Go out and stand on the mountain before the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by." Now there was a great wind, so strong that it was splitting mountains and breaking rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind, and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake, and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire, and after the fire a sound of sheer silence.” (1 Kings 19:11-12)

Prayer~

Jesus, I keep looking for signs and wonders. I keep waiting for You to show up in big, dramatic ways. Instead, teach me to listen patiently for Your still small voice. Amen.

Meeting Jesus ~

We are so excited to welcome Ed Black as our guest preacher this Sunday in worship. Ed is an old friend who has preached and led worship for us before. (He led the Renewal of Vows service for Pastor MJ and Chris when they celebrated their 25th anniversary!). He’ll be teaching on Paul’s Letter to the Philippians. And you won’t want to miss Colton Stumpf playing the saxophone.

Meeting Friends ~

Mark your calendars for Church in the Park on August 10. We’ll gather at City Park at 10 a.m. to worship and hear from David Mackey about his mission work in South Africa.

Sharing Hope ~

Our best way to share hope is to share Jesus, and we’re sharing Jesus with the community with our True North VBS in July.
